CA Express Entry June 2025 Update: 503 ITAs Issued in New CEC-Only PNP Draw!
In an exciting turn for Canadian immigration hopefuls, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted a new Express Entry draw under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), exclusively targeting Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.
1. What Does This Mean for Applicants?
This draw specifically targeted CEC candidates with a provincial nomination, which automatically adds 600 CRS points to their Express Entry profile. That means the base score (excluding nomination) could have been as low as 142 CRS.
If you’re a temporary foreign worker or international graduate in Canada, this is a golden opportunity to get invited through Express Entry by securing a PNP nomination.
2. Who is Eligible for CEC + PNP Draws?
You may be eligible if you:
- Have at least 1 year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada (within the last 3 years),
- Meet language proficiency (CLB 7 or higher),
- Have completed your Express Entry profile, and
- Have received a provincial nomination from a participating province or territory.
3. Why the High CRS Score?
The 742 CRS cut-off may seem high, but it’s due to the inclusion of provincial nominees, who already have 600 extra points. This draw reflects IRCC’s strategy to invite high-priority candidates who meet both federal and provincial labour market needs.
